Reports and Letters
Reports and letters can be requested from your therapist, and the fee will reflect the time taken for the report with the addition of GST.
To request a report or letter, please send and email to admin@seaglasspsychology.com.au with specific questions to be answered, and your therapist will get back to you with a price estimate.
Once you have paid for your report, your therapist can begin writing it, with an expected turnaround of 3 weeks.
Alternate Funders
At Seaglass Psychology we also accept clients through TAC, Victims of Crime, and private health insurance.
Please note that funding will need to be self-managed by each client. The client will need to pay for the full cost of the appointment on the day, and can then send their invoice to their third party funder for reimbursement. The amount that will be reimbursed will depend on your approval or coverage by these funders.
Any reports or case conferences required will be billed according to the time required to complete the additional work.
We also accept full fee paying clients who will not be using Medicare or any alternate reimbursements.
Cancellation Policy
Seaglass Psychology charges a cancellation fee for any appointments cancelled within 24 hours. The cancellation fee is the full cost of the appointment, and it is not possible to claim a medicare rebate for a cancelled appointment. Please try to let us know with more than 24 hours notice if you need to cancel so that you can avoid the fee, and so that we can offer your appointment time to other clients.
Seaglass Psychology will always allow you to change your appointment to Telehealth to help you attend.
Medicare process
There are a few steps involved in accessing Medicare rebates for your sessions under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. First, make an appointment with your GP, and they will determine whether you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, and will write a referral to your chosen clinic. You can send this paperwork to the clinic in advance to ensure everything is received before your first appointment, and your therapist can process your Medicare rebates after each session.
Your first referral is generally for up to 6 sessions. After these sessions are used, your therapist will write an update report to your GP, and you can schedule another appointment with your GP to review your progress. Your GP can then refer your for additional sessions, adding up to a total of 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year.
